Hi there, this is Leah, owner of Heart Song. I want to first thank all of you that have participated in our challenges and a special shout out to Steph, Anne and Kathy who participated in our last challenge. Ladies, please contact me to claim your choice of 2 digis from the Heart Song shop.

This is a sad post for me today, but one I feel I must do for this time in my life and that is to let you all know that last week's challenge is Heart Song's last. I have a lot of wonderful things on my plate right now, namely my family, that needs more of my undivided attention. I have had a wonderful time drawing for Heart Song and providing challenges and I have been so incredibly blessed by the amazing Design Team I have had the privilage of working with but as I am sure you all understand family must always come first. The Heart Song shop will remain open and I may occasionally add images to it and I will still continue to be a sponsor. Thank you again and may you all be blessed.

Challenge #34 and Some Changes at Heart Song Inspirations

The new year has begun and with it comes some changes to the challenges here on Heart Song Inspirations. We think that you will like these changes and hopefully you will have even more fun participating in the challenges and competing for the prizes.

The first Monday of each month will be New Release Monday. There will be a fun new release from Leah and she will also put a new free image on the freebie tab that you can use for your project. You can check out all the wonderful images in this month's release by going HERE.

The challenge for New Release Monday will always be "Anything Goes" but to participate in the challenge you must use a Heart Song image. The winner of the New Release Monday challenge will win the entire new release.

The remainder of the Mondays in the month will be normal challenges and you can use any image you like, BUT, if you want to be entered into the drawing to win 2 free digis, you will need to use a Heart Song image. This shouldn't be a problem for anyone as there will be free digis available on the Freebies tab! We hope that these changes will make our challenges even more fun for everyone.

Operation Julie's Smile Blog HOP!

The creative blogging community is coming together this weekend to help one of our friends, Julie Ranae. You may know her as the Design Team Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubber stamps and more. What many people don’t know about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child. It was in her plans to think about having all of her teeth replaced at some point in the next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out. But then it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago. The dentist told her there was no way to save them & that it was his recommendation that she give in and have them all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!
Because she is an event organizer by trade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as her way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able to work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done.
It is the goal of all of these generous friends & sponsors to help make this situation more do-able for our friend so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon.

New Images and announcement

Good Wednesday to you all! Today I have a couple new images for you that are up in the Heart Song Designs shop, they are Baby Giraffe and Tiny Miracle. I hope you like them! My cards used each image and for the Baby Giraffe one I used Copic markers to color and the Tiny Miracle I paper pieced the moon and star.

Baby images are very fitting right now for me as this coming Monday, the 23rd my husband and I are making our first trip to Ethiopia to appear in court to finalize the adoption of our baby boy. Sadly, our baby will not be able to come home this trip...we have to come home and wait hopefully just a few weeks to get clearance to travel again to bring him home, but this is a huge step closer to our family being all together. I will be out of the country from May 23rd through May 31st, so any orders placed during that time will not be sent within the 24hour time period. But, they will be filled asap as soon as I am home. Prayers are much appreciated and I look forward to sharing when I am back home. Hugs...

Pretty Pansy Frame

Hope you are all having a good week! I am happy to have a new image for you called Pansy Frame. The card I created using it was colored with Copics and Prisma Color pencils and then trimmed out. I mounted the frame onto a doily and used a lovely sentiment for the inside and finished it off by using some Fine Linen Distress ink, pearls, a Clear Star gelly roll glitter pen, and a tiny punched butterfly. Hi everyone! This is Karen... today's card features the Best Friends digital stamp from Heart Song Designs. I used soft colors and paired this beautiful image with patterned paper from K&Company.

My card base is Pink Pirouette layered with PTI White then Polka Dot patterned paper. The shadow layer is Meadow Stripe patterned paper layered on Pink Pirouette. I stitched around the edges of both pieces of patterned paper. The image was printed on PTI White and colored in using copic markers. I paper pierced around the edges then layered it on Pink Pirouette. To embellish the card I added Pink Pirouette Double Striped Ribbon and some pearls on the shadow layer and image.

I love this new image! and I wanted to go a little "shabby chic" with it. This dp from October Afternoon is called "Thrift Shop" and totally made me think vintage. :) The fun flower from Prima was even a little shabby. Isn't this a great image?! I was really happy with the results

Card Using Bloom Trimmers - These are individual flowers and leaves and a butterfly you can color, cut apart and use any way you wish.

Hey all, Shelly here with you this morning. I thought today that since we are so close to getting into Spring, and most of us are quite sick of the winter and snowy weather, that it would be fun to post a card made with the March Daffodil image from Heart Song Designs.

I just love daffodils, and they are the birth flower for March, so what could be more fitting?

Red Tulip

Good morning! It's Holly posting today. I fell in love with the Lovely Tulip image that was just released yesterday, and I printed it out immediately. I wanted this tulip in red colors so it would match the background paper. This flower digi is so easy to color and it's absolutely gorgeous.

Doesn't that flower just make you swoon? I used the Pencilled Twinks technique to color in this image, and then I cut it out with an oval die. The paper was too white and I wanted it to blend in with the cream tones in the background paper, so I sponged some Antique Linen distress ink all around the flower and the sentiment.

Morning Glories for mom

Wohoo glad its Saturday how about you?? Today I've made a card using these beautiful Morning Glories one of the birthday series. I love blue morning glories so as you can see mine are blue. I water colored them then matted them on a embossed blue. They are so pretty I just did a little stitching and a bow so they could be the main focus. Hi everyone! This is Karen... today's card was created using the April Daisy digital stamp from Heart Song Designs. I softened the background using the D'vine Swirls Embossing Folder and paired it with the beautiful Doily Lace Edge Punch.

My card base is Basic Black layered with PTI White then Yoyo Yellow embossed using the D'vine Swirls Embossing Folder. The shadow layer is Treasured Brights layered with a small strip of Yoyo Yellow finished using the Doily Lace Edge Punch. The image was printed on PTI White and colored in using copic markers. I paper pierced around the edges then layered it on Basic Black. To embellish the card I wrapped organdy ribbon around the card base and a bow over the flower stems. I also added some Pearl Dew Drops along the Doily Lace Edge.

I realize that it's only March. After rushing around at the end of last year making Christmas cards, I made a New Year's Resolution. I would make one Christmas card per week. First, I have to say thanks for stopping by Heart Song Designs Inspiration Blog. Second, I have to thank Leah for always providing such wonderful inspirations with her designs. Third, I want to say how proud I am to be a part of this team.

Okay, with all that said, it's time for the card I made with one of Leah's recent images titled "Theadore". I love this little bunny holding a tulip and I just had to give her dirty feet and hands for playing in the garden...lol!

Isn't this Theadore just too cute?? I love bunnies and Easter images anyway, so this was right down my alley. And, of course, you can find Theadore in the Heart Song Designs store.

Don't forget that Leah always has New Releases Sundays; you don't want to miss them! Leah's talent is always reflected in her images. She has some wonderful images coming this Sunday...do you like flowers? Oh, I guess I shouldn't have said that. Hope I'm not in trouble...lol.

Welcome Little One!

Hello everyone, Stephanie here with today's post. I am using "Baby Buggy" today, seems we are going to have a few new little ones added to our circle of friends soon so I am getting prepared. I just love this sweet little buggy, it is gender neutral. I started out making a gender neutral card with this image but think I ended up on the "girly" side, what do you think? I hope I have inspired you to create somthing today. Make sure you stop back tomorrow, Leah has some really sweet images being released tomorrow.

Rainbow Scene

Hi Everyone. It's my time to post on Heart Song Inspiration Blog. For my card, I chose the Rainbow Scene. As I was coloring it, I got to thinking about how God made a promise to Noah after the flood. He promised He would never destroy the world again by flood. I also thought of all the other promises in the Bible that He has made to us, His children. So Leah's little Rainbow Scene became a source of inspiration for my little card and I hope for you as well.

The Sky's the Limit

Hey all, Shelly here. I am so excited to share my card with you this week. I've been wanting to play with the Heart Song Hot Air Balloon image for a while now. Hot air balloons are so popular, along with clouds and things of the sky, and this one is just too adorable.
I also knew that this image was perfect to try out some paper piecing. I've never done that with a stamp--digi or otherwise, and I think this turned out quite nicely. It will probably come in handy for a graduation or promotion card--something of that nature.

I just want to point out really quick, for those of you who may be new to digital stamping, that this digital stamp has been "squashed a bit". If you follow the link to the image above, you will see that it looks longer and skinnier in the Heart Song Designs shop. I like a nice, short, round hot air balloon lol. So, I simply manipulated it in Microsoft Word until it was shaped the way I wanted. Really cool thing about digis I tell ya!

I then printed it three times over on the same paper (once for the image outline, once to get the orange top printed on, and once to print on the polka dot and basket papers of my choice), and once more on a new sheet to use on the card. If that's confusing, I'm sorry. I don't have a way with words lol. You could just print the entire image on all three papers and then cut out the pieces you need, but I was using scraps so I had to improvise.
Here is the recipe for my card:
Stamp: Hot Air Balloon by Heart Song Designs
Cardstock: Oatmeal color from local craft chain (they get it from Xpedx)
Patterned Paper: dark brown base is Paper Loft, polka dot and orange top on the balloon are the same sheet of paper from Cosmo Cricket, Basket paper is from SEI, Stripe is Crate Paper, Clouds is October Afternoon, Yellow Polka Dots is October Afternoon, and I don't know where I got the orange plaid. It's old lol.
Accessories: Stampin Up Brilliant Blue ink (sponged), Imaginisce I-Rock and Glam Rocks, Stampin Up marker in Tempting Turquoise (around the clouds), black Le Pen from Marvy for faux stitching, adhesive tape from EK Success, foam pop dots from 3L, ribbon from my stash (old & don't know what brand), computer generated sentiment (I'm sure I stole that from somewhere), and staples from office supply.

Birthday Flowers in Vase

Good morning! It's Holly posting today, and I need to stock up on birthday cards again. This digi image from Heart Song Designs is perfect for feminine birthday cards. I colored this Vase of Flowers with Copic markers and then sponged a little kraft ink around the edges. I kept this card sweet and simple with some pink and kraft cardstock, and I added a little scalloped strip of kraft cardstock for a little extra interest.

Heart Song Designs...Iris

The birth flower for February is the lovely iris. Leah has the flowers for each month available at her new store here. I have water colored the image and cut out with a Spellbinder Label #14 then matted on a scalloped oval . I used Stampin Up design paper mounted on my white circle. Dyed some ribbon then added some lace and buttons. The dots are all purple stickles.
